TIERRA
FINAL NEWSLETTER
Happy Holidays to all our valued customers!!! Good
luck and good health in the New Year!
This will be our last newsletter. We have decided
to close our restaurant effective Friday, February 17th 2012. After almost
13 years we are starting a new stage in our lives.
This decision was made based on many variables:
the way of doing business nowadays is very different than when we opened
in 1999, we are older and tired and the economic climate has made it increasingly
more difficult to turn a profit. Additionally, our landlord wanted a serious
rent increase. But the clincher was the fact that Dan was offered a position
at the Cordon Blue College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta and we quickly
agreed that he couldn’t pass up this opportunity. He’s been
teaching for six weeks now.
Because of the way we have conducted our business
we can make this decision willingly, positively, without debt or doubt.
We also feel a sense of accomplishment: we introduced Atlanta to true
Latin American flavors.
We will miss all of you who have shown us loyalty
and appreciation.
We want to thank you for supporting us, understanding and enjoying our
food.
We will not be on OpenTable as of the 23rd of December so please call
to make reservations. We will take our customary break between Christmas
and New Year’s from December 24th returning on Tuesday, January
3rd with the winter menu. We will celebrate our 13th anniversary on Thursday,
February 16th.
Ticha has not yet decided what she will do. She
will certainly be happy to take orders for Tres Leches and perhaps other
Tierra favorites. Keep track of us on facebook at Tierra Restaurant and
on twitter @tierraatlanta. We will love to hear from you and we hope to
see you from now through the 17th of February!!! THANK YOU!!!
